For those of you that don’t know me, I was born and raised on a farm west of Dell Rapids. Married Charlynn (Char) Alvine on August 3, 1957 and we have three children, 8 grandchildren and one great grand daughter. We moved from the eastern part of the state to the west end in 1983 and now live about 2 miles south west of Spearfish.  I have had my real estate license since 1976 and went to auction school in 1977.  I work full time at Century 21 Spearfish Realty and own “THE AUCTIONEERS” auction company. 

Being installed as the 48th President of the South Dakota Auctioneers Association is humbling, as well as an exciting way to be honored in this way by your peers.  I will perform these duties to the best of my ability.  I will be trying a couple of new things, with the board's permission, but don’t look for a lot of changes. I am looking forward to going  to the NAA Conference and Show in Overland Kansas in July, the South Dakota Bid Calling Contest on September 6th, as well as the Winter Board Meeting in February and, of course, the 2010 Convention in Spearfish on June 10, 11and 12.  If anyone has any suggestions for the convention or for the good of the organization, please forward them on to me, I appreciate any help that is available.
